Established in 1975, CAUSA,
Inc. is a membership organization of several
Latino community service agencies in Connecticut.
CAUSA, Inc.'s member
agencies work in the areas of education, health,
elderly services, child care, HIV/AIDS, housing
and economic development. Each year, these
agencies serve tens of thousands of Connecticut's
most underprivileged and underserved Latinos.
Since its inception, CAUSA,
Inc.'s mission has remained the same:
to better meet the growing needs of the Hispanic
community, to obtain a fair share of resources,
and to help its member agencies to secure
new resources.
Connecticut Association
for United Spanish Action, Inc.
is dedicated to enhancing the general well
being of the HISPANIC/LATINO population in
Connecticut with special emphasis on advocacy,
research and technical assistance through
and with its member agencies.
Established in 1975, CAUSA,

goals of expanding our geographical reach.
CAUSA, Inc.'s member

area's most underprivileged and vulnerable
Latinos.

Carmen Sierra, Executive
Director
Ms. Sierra was born and
raised in Hartford, Connecticut. She attended
high school in Puerto Rico and graduated from
Buchanan High Military School. She has a B.S.
in Management/Human Resources from Central
Connecticut State University and a M.S. Public
Administration from the University of Hartford.
She has over ten years
of experience in highly visible, responsible
roles in state, and federal government and
in a Fortune 500 health insurance company.
She is a Commissioner for the Hartford Economic
Development Commission, Board Member of Connecticut
Workforce Development Board, former member
of Catholic Family Services, Institute of
Hispanic Family, and many more.
Currently, Ms. Sierra is
the Executive Director of the Connecticut
Association for United Spanish Action, Inc.
(CAUSA) the largest coalition of Latino
community-based organizations.

CAUSA, Inc. was
founded in 1975 and is Connecticut's largest
coalition of Latino community-based organizations.
CAUSA member agencies provide educational
services to new immigrants and low-income
and working class Latino families.
CAUSA's member organizations
throughout Connecticut reached over 25,000
people last year-about 10% of the state's
Latino population. CAUSA agencies offer everything
from ESL classes to employment services to
childcare and youth programming to computer
skills & internet access through CAUSA's
Project Nexo.
Thousands of Latino
men, women and children in Connecticut rely
upon the services provided by CAUSA agencies.
